The Canadian Red Cross is helping out a family of five in western Newfoundland after a fire damaged their home on Wednesday.
The blaze broke out in the family's bungalow just after 9 a.m. on Main Street in Benoit's Cove, about 10 kilometres west of Corner Brook.
A man was home at the time but escaped unhurt. His wife and three sons were at work or school.
Red Cross volunteers are helping the family with emergency housing, food, clothing and other essentials, the organization said in a statement.
There's no word on what caused the fire. The house was extensively damaged.
