After repairs, St. Bon's forum reopens

St. Bon's forum is open again, after being temporarily shut down due to mould and structural problems earlier this month.

Forum spokesman Bill Kent says repairs were made by Friday past.

"We had a bit of work today," Kent told CBC News. "We tore up some board — all replaced, some plywood and so on. Everything that was mould-related was all ripped out and cleaned up."

The shutdown caused headaches for people who divvy up the ice time for rinks in the St. John's area.

The repairs were initially pegged at about $40,000.

A recent routine Occupational Health and Safety inspection had found mould in the rink.
