A 26-year old who robbed a pizza delivery man and a gas station in St. John's was sentenced to four years and eight  months in prison Wednesday.

Last August, Rodrigues Ryan robbed almost five-hundred dollars from the pizza delivery man at knife point.

He nicked the man's upper chest with the weapon

During the robbery Ryan had his face covered, but the victim, who had dated Ryan's mother, recognized his attacker's voice.

While he was out on bail on that charge, Ryan, of St. John's, held up an Esso station on Empire Avenue last February.

He peddled away on a bicycle after stealing almost 200 dollars and cigarettes.

Ryan used what the clerk believes was a gun in that case.
