Ty Burr is a film critic and columnist for the Boston Globe and he says he plans on returning to New Brunswick despite his road sign confusion.

"We are definitely coming back, we loved it there," he said.

"The places we camped and stayed and the restaurants were all terrific."

Ty Burr, film critic with the Boston Globe, tries to translate New Brunswick's road signs.

Burr and his wife were left puzzled by the road signs they saw on a recent vacation along the Maritime coast.

So much so that Burr wrote his column on the images that stumped him, the fiddlehead depicting the River Valley Scenic Drive, pavement ending and museum signs.

Burr posted the signs on his Facebook page before he wrote the column, he says even his friends were confused.

The column ignited a province-wide chuckle after Burr made up his own meaning for the signs.

"It's clearly something that sparks conversation and a laugh and god knows we need one of those," he said.
