RCMP searching for man after Sussex-area stabbing

A 49-year-old man is being sought by the RCMP in connection to a Wednesday morning stabbing in Plumweseep, near Sussex.

A 49-year-old man is being sought by the RCMP in connection to a Wednesday morning stabbing in Plumweseep, near Sussex.

The Sussex RCMP received an emergency call before 8 a.m. from a woman who had suffered stab wounds after a fight, according to the police.

The woman was rushed to a Saint John hospital and the seriousness of her injuries is not known, the RCMP said in a statement.

The RCMP are treating the stabbing as an isolated incident because the victim and suspect know each other.

The 49-year-old suspect was last seen driving a 2009 grey Honda Ridgeline truck. The licence plate is CPM 926.

The suspect is described as five-feet, 11-inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing glasses, a black coat, blue jeans and black boots, according to the police.
