Power restored to more than 1,400 NB Power customers in Fredericton
NB Power says the power outages were caused by a mechanical issue
Power has been restored to more than 1,400 NB Power customers in downtown Fredericton on Tuesday morning.
Marc Belliveau, a spokesperson for NB Power, said a mechanical issue caused the outage that started around 3 a.m.
"A switch failed, causing a short and needed to be replaced," he said in an email to CBC News.
Crews were able to restore the outages before 8:30 a.m.
Residents living in the area bounded by Smythe, York, Aberdeen and Queen streets were affected by the outage.
