Inmate at large after escaping jail in Saint-Hilaire, N.B.

Kevin Beaulieu, an inmate at Madawaska Regional Correctional Centre, has escaped and is on the run, according to RCMP.

RCMP urges anyone spots Kevin Beaulieu, 38, not to approach him and to call 911 immediately

An inmate at Madawaska Regional Correctional Centre in Saint-Hilaire, N.B., has escaped and is on the run, according to RCMP.

At approximately 10:15 Saturday morning, 38-year-old Kevin Beaulieu escaped the jail by jumping the fence, Cpl. Jullie Rogers-Marsh said. He ran off on foot.

Police were contacted and patrols were made with the RCMP Police Dog Services. As of 2:30 p.m., Beaulieu had not been located, she said. 

Beaulieu is described as five-foot-ten weighing 170 pounds, with short shaved brown hair, green eyes and a tattoo on his back. He was wearing an orange jump suit and blue shoes.

RCMP urges anyone who sees Beaulieu not to approach and to call 911 immediately.

The Madawaska Regional Correction Centre refused to comment, saying the details are confidential.
