Miramichi apartment fire forces 35 tenants to flee

Canadian Red Cross provided help to residents affected by the Monday afternoon fire

A Monday afternoon fire at a Miramichi apartment building forced 35 people out of their homes.
The fire was reported around 4 p.m. at 15 Cole Cres.
The three-storey building was damaged in the blaze.
However, there were no injuries from the fire.
Tenants were taken to the nearby Golden Hawk Recreation Centre, where volunteers from the Canadian Red Cross met with them to arrange emergency lodging, food and other support.
The local Red Cross team from Miramichi was helped by a second team from Bathurst.
