Man jumps from second-storey window to escape house fire
RCMP investigating Parleeville blaze as possible arson
RCMP are investigating a possible case of arson in Parleeville, near Norton, Thursday that sent two people to hospital.
Officers responded to a fire at a two-storey home at about 1 a.m., Cpl Graham Milner stated in a news release.
Five people were inside the house at the time, he said.
A 32-year-old man, who was in the bedroom where the fire originated, escaped by jumping out of the second-storey window and suffered serious injuries, said Milner.
He was transported to a hospital in Saint John.
Another man was also taken to hospital and treated for smoke inhalation.
Three women escaped uninjured.
The investigation by the Sussex RCMP and provincial fire marshal continues.
