Fredericton's M. Travis Lane shortlisted for GG poetry award

Fredericton poet M. Travis Lane has been nominated for a Governor General's Award for Poetry, according to a shortlist that was released by the Canada Council for the Arts on Wednesday.

Fredericton poet M. Travis Lane has been nominated for a Governor General's Award for Poetry, according to a shortlist that was released by the Canada Council for the Arts on Wednesday.

Lane has been nominated for her 15th collection of poetry, called Crossover.

Cormorant Books, Lane's publisher, describes the collection a "continuation of one poet's exploration of the world and of her inner world, shared with us in the conviction that the spaces we inhabit overlap and connect."

The winners will be announced on Oct. 28.

Others shortlisted in the poetry category are:

  • Kayla Czaga (Vancouver, B.C.)
  • Liz Howard (Toronto)
  • Patrick Lane (North Saanich, B.C.)
  • Robyn Sarah (Montreal)
