Lobster season delayed on North Shore
High winds in forecast
The start of lobster season in northeastern New Brunswick has been delayed a couple of days due to strong winds in the forecast.
Boats were scheduled to go out Saturday morning in the Bay of Chaleur and Gulf of St. Lawrence south to Point Escuminac.
But winds of more than 30 knots are forecasted over the weekend, the Department of Fisheries and Oceans announced Friday.
As a result, the season will begin on Monday at 6 a.m. instead.
The spring season ends on June 30.
The fall season on the North Shore is expected to begin in mid-August.
