1 dead after house fire in Sainte-Marie-de-Kent
One person is dead and another is in hospital after a house fire in Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, N.B., on Saturday.
Firefighters were called around noon Saturday to a residential fire
One person is dead and another is in hospital after a house fire in Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, N.B., on Saturday.
The fire happened at a home on Route 515 and first responders were called to the scene at around noon.
Sgt. Chantal Farrah, media relations officer for N.B. RCMP, said an autopsy will be performed in order to confirm the identity of the victim and the cause of death.
She said another person who was a resident of the home was taken to hospital and the extent of their injuries remains unknown.
Firefighters were on scene Saturday afternoon and were working their way through the house.
Police and paramedics were also at the site on Saturday.
The RCMP is continuing to investigate the blaze and the circumstances involving the fire.
