Bathurst police search for thief after $10K painting stolen
A painting worth $10,000 was stolen after a downtown cafe was burned to the ground

The Bathurst police are looking for a stolen painting taken after fire destroyed Cafe Gourmet and several other buildings in Bathurst on Nov. 27, 2015.

Graziella Matteau, a local artist, lost her paintings to the fire in November, as well.
They were being displayed as an exhibit in the popular downtown restaurant and were destroyed during the blaze.
The Office of the Fire Marshal completed its investigation into the fire in December.
The cause of the fire is still undetermined, since there was insufficient evidence due to extensive damage.

Two other structures were damaged by flames, smoke and water.
The fire remains suspicious.
The Bathurst police have asked anyone with information regarding the fire, or the whereabouts of the missing painting, to call the force or Crime Stoppers.
