Bathurst duplex fire leaves 2 families homeless

Two families are homeless after a duplex on Vanier Boulevard in Bathurst was heavily damaged by fire Wednesday morning.

Two families are homeless after a duplex on Vanier Boulevard in Bathurst was heavily damaged by fire Wednesday morning.

The fire was reported around 7:30 a.m. and 15 firefighters responded.

It was about 90 minutes before the fire was brought under control.

Police said two people in the unit where the fire originated were injured, but their injuries are not life-threatening.

A woman had to jump from the second floor of one unit to escape the fire.
