Three former Doaktown volunteer firefighters were back in court in Miramichi on Wednesday in their arson trial.

Thomas Francis Colford, Sherry Story and Terrence Murray Ryder are accused of arson in connection with three fires in vacant buildings during a three-week period in November 2009.

The Crown heard from its final two witnesses, who were police investigators, on Wednesday.

The defence asked whether the accused were given enough opportunity to contact a lawyer after they were brought in by the police.

There are two days left in the trial. A defence lawyer said on Wednesday they had not decided if they would call any witnesses.
