The Canadian Red Cross said a man in his 30s and his mother are staying with relatives after fire burned through the second floor of their home on Lameque Island.
The two occupants — who were not injured — live in Pigeon Hill, about 20 km away from Shippagan.
The organization says the fire started around 9 p.m. Saturday, and quickly caused extensive damage. The Red Cross said investigators believe an electrical problem sparked the fire.
