2 ex-firefighters sentenced to prison for Doaktown arsons

Two former volunteer firefighters have been sentenced to prison in connection with two arsons in Doaktown in the fall of 2009.

Two former volunteer firefighters in Doaktown have been sentenced to two years in prison on arson-related charges.

Terence Murray Ryder, 28, and Thomas Francis Colford, 26, were both sentenced on Wednesday on counts of arson and conspiracy to commit arson in connection with two separate fires in the village.

Sherry Storey, 42, who was also charged with arson in one of the fires, received a conditional sentence of 10 months.

The fires were set at two vacant residences in the fall of 2009, the Miramichi provincial courtroom heard.
