Portion of Victoria Avenue now reopened to traffic
A portion of Victoria Avenue in Côte-des-Neiges has reopened after an overnight water main break caused damage to the road between Linton and Carleton avenues.
Van Horne Avenue has also reopened between Lavoie and Légaré streets.
Buses 124 and 161 from the nearby Plamondon Metro station are now back to their normal routes in both directions after being rerouted due to the closures.
A foreman with the city's water works told CBC a pipe burst below the surface of the street and that the pressure caused multiple leaks in the asphalt.
City workers had to dig down, fix the pipe and close the road back up, he said.
