Provincial police investigating after 2 bodies found in Beauharnois Canal

Police said there is a strong chance that they may be the bodies of two snowmobilers who went missing in the area in February.

Provincial police are investigating after the bodies of two men were found Wednesday in the Beauharnois Canal, near the Hydro-Québec power plant in Beauharnois, Que.

A passerby spotted the first body around 11 a.m. About an hour later, the second body was found nearby. 

Police have identified both bodies as men and say the remains are currently at the morgue, where they will be identified.

Police also said there is a strong chance the bodies could be those of two snowmobilers who went missing in the area in February.
