Trudeau 'ready to learn,' says mother
Justin Trudeau was sworn in on Parliament Hill Thursday afternoon after winning the Montreal riding of Papineau in the Oct. 14 federal election.
The eldest son of former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau beat out Bloc Québécois incumbent Viviane Barbot to win the seat, in one of Montreal's most multicultural neighbourhoods.
Trudeau's mother, Margaret Trudeau Kemper, attended his swearing-in at the House of Commons on Thursday.
She told reporters she was proud of her son and thinks "he has the potential to be a good, good politician."
"He wants to learn, and he's ready to learn," she said.
