5-alarm fire in Saint-Laurent damages 4 townhouses

A five-alarm in the Saint-Laurent borough damaged four townhouses Monday afternoon.

More than 125 firefighters were called to 2168 de l'Écu Street in the Bois-Franc neighbourhood around 4:30 p.m.

The fire started on the ground floor of one of the units before working its way up to the attic and spreading to the other buildings.

The units were quickly evacuated and no injuries were reported. Everyone has been accounted for.

Three of the units were damaged by the blaze and the fourth by water.

It is unclear how many people have been forced from their home. 

More details on the the cause of the fire will be known Tuesday morning after investigators arrive on the scene.
