About the host

Shawn Apel is the host of Radio Noon, but also a sharp journalist and stellar storyteller. Shawn has more than 20 years of experience in local news and current affairs.

Throughout his career, Shawn has covered municipal affairs and the investigative beat. He also spent several years covering anything and everything in Montreal for Daybreak.

Prior to joining CBC, Shawn worked as a reporter at the Sherbrooke Record. Before that, he made delicious sandwiches in a bakery.

When he's not in the host chair, Shawn enjoys cycling, and eating. When he is in the host chair, he tries to avoid both those activities.
