A man from the Quebec City region has been arrested in the Dominican Republic in connection with sexual charges involving children.

A man from the Quebec City region has been arrested in the Dominican Republic on charges of child sexual exploitation.

Interpol has been searching for 59-year-old Michel Lévis since June.

Police in the Dominican Republic said they tracked Lévis to the tourist hotspot of Puerto Plata.

It is unclear when he entered the Dominican Republic.

Dominican authorities say 11 foreigners have been arrested in the country since 2007 on sexual charges related to children.
