Quebec police warn of driving dangers over next two weeks
Annual construction holiday means more cars on Quebec's highways and greater risk of accidents
Police are warning drivers around Quebec to exercise greater caution over the next few weeks as the province’s annual construction holiday kicks in.
The annual two-week period always means a higher number of vacationers on Quebec’s roads, and provincial police say that inevitably translates into an increased risk of collisions.
According to the Sûreté du Québec, 11 people died on Quebec’s roads during the annual two-week construction holiday in 2013.
The SQ said it will be out in force over the next two weeks to monitor Quebec’s highways and watch for impaired or otherwise dangerous drivers.
