A motorcycle rider in Saguenay was slapped with thousands of dollars in fines after he was clocked going 170 km/h in a 90 km/h zone.

A motorcycle rider in Saguenay was slapped with thousands of dollars in fines after he was clocked going 170 km/h in a 90 km/h zone.

Police stopped the man this week in Jonquière, in the Lac-St-Jean area of Quebec.

Officials said the motorcycle rider ran four stop signs and was driving without a licence.

He was fined almost $4,500, the bike was seized, and he was given 30 demerit points.

Officials said criminal charges might also be laid.
