Quebec City police officer accused of dangerous driving causing death
Motorcyclist Jessy Drolet, 38, was killed on impact in accident involving squad car last September
A Quebec City police officer involved in a fatal accident is facing criminal charges.
Isabelle Morin is accused of dangerous driving causing death.
The accident happened last September, when Morin did a U-turn in a construction zone on the Laurentian Autoroute, and a motorcyclist slammed into the back of her squad car.
Jessy Drolet, 38, was killed on impact.
In a statement, Quebec City's police chief said the force is co-operating with investigators.
A complaint has also been filed with the province's police ethics commission.
Morin continues to work with the police department but will be assigned to administrative duties now that the charges have been laid.
