One minute to win it: CBC Montreal at Startupfest
Media pitch tent helps new companies learn how to gain exposure
For the third year running, CBC Montreal will be setting up camp at Startupfest, which runs from July 13 - 16 in the Old Port of Montreal. For two days, would-be entrepreneurs will get a chance to hone their product pitches by practicing them on seasoned journalists. The challenge? The pitch can be no longer than one minute.
Founded in 2011, Startupfest is an annual event that welcomes innovators from around the world hoping to attract investors to their ideas and draw inspiration from other success stories.
The CBC Media Pitch Tent gives festival goers 60 seconds to make their best impression on members of the CBC team. Our journalists will provide practical advice on how to stand out in a sea press of releases and how to shape a story so that it captures the imagination of producers and audiences. The top media pitcher to get our attention will be featured on CBC Montreal.
Last year's media pitch winner was Nathon Kong, whose business, Tailor 2 Go, features a van that comes to your office to offer tailored clothes.
