A major fire has destroyed an Oka, Que. boat house, causing hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages.

An overnight fire has destroyed an Oka, Que. boat shed, causing hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages.

The fire happened at Point-aux-Anglais Yacht Club, just northwest of the Mohawk town of Kanesatake.

Quebec's provincial police were called to the scene around midnight.

Boats were stored in the building. According to Radio-Canada, they were all destroyed.

Police say the fire is suspicious and have been at the scene investigating overnight.

The arson squad will be searching for evidence on Saturday.

Firefighters have not confirmed the source of the fire.

No one was injured.
