Two police officers were treated for neck and back injuries after their cruiser flipped on its roof in a mid-intersection crash that happened while they were responding to a call last night.

The officers were traveling in a marked minivan on Henri-Bourassa Boulevard at the intersection of Lacordaire Boulevard.

The police van, which was passing through the intersection on a red light, collided with another minivan that was traveling north through the intersection on Lacordaire, according to Montreal police.

The impact from the T-bone collision flipped the police vehicle on its roof.

The two officers in the van were taken to hospital and treated for back and neck injuries. The other driver, a 32-year-old woman, was treated for an injury to her arm and released from hospital.

Collision investigators were brought to the scene last night and the police vehicle is being checked for mechanical problems.

No charges have been laid.
