Man shot during early morning dispute downtown
36-year-old victim had wounds to his face, police say

A 36-year-old man is in hospital after what police are calling an attempted murder in downtown Montreal early Sunday morning.
Around 3:15 a.m., calls came in about gunshots in the area of St-Antoine and Mansfield streets.
When police arrived, they found the man lying on the ground with gunshot wounds to his face, said Const. Manuel Couture.
The victim was conscious when he was taken to hospital, but police say he is now in stable condition. Investigators will meet with him in the coming days to determine what exactly happened.
Police believe an altercation broke out at a private event nearby and made its way outside, where the man was shot.
The canine unit and forensic experts were called to the scene to assist with the investigation. No arrests have been made.
