Man stabbed overnight in Montreal

A 34-year-old man was stabbed early Saturday in front of a home in downtown Montreal.

A 34-year-old man was stabbed early Saturday in front of a home in downtown Montreal.

Police said It happened on Tupper Street, near Lambert Closse, less than an hour after midnight.

Saturday morning, police said the victim was in hospital, with stab wounds to his upper body.

"Our investigators tried to meet with him, but he refused to collaborate," said Danny Richer, who speaks for the Montreal Police Department.

"Our investigators are supposed to go to the scene [Saturday] morning. They want to speak with other wintesses who may have seen what happened."

Richer said the 34-year-old is expected to recover from his injuries.

No one has been arrested for the assault.
