Man killed in Trois-Rivières bus crash
A man who was trapped under the wreckage of a crashed mini-bus near Trois-Rivières, Que., early Thursday morning has died.
The 21-year-old was on a Victoriaville-bound bus with 12 other people when the vehicle lost control on Highway 40 and flipped over at about 3 a.m.
The driver and other passengers were not seriously hurt, but the victim ended up trapped underneath the bus.
He was rescued and taken to hospital where he died.
Sgt. Claude Denis of the Sûreté du Québec said the cause was still being investigated but that it's believed the driver lost control on the icy highway.
The crash comes after a Wednesday filled with stormy winter weather that caused multiple accidents throughout the province, including a 70-vehicle pileup near Sainte-Julie.
