Man dies after fall near Mount Royal lookout

A man is dead after a fall on Mount Royal early Sunday morning.

The man, who was in his 30s, was walking with his partner near a lookout point when he slipped and fell about 10 metres.

A fire department spokesperson said the woman, who was at first identified by authorities as his wife, called 911 at around 4:10 a.m., and searchers located the man about 20 minutes later.

The man suffered serious injuries and was in cardiorespiratory arrest when he was found.

He was later declared dead in hospital.
