Infant left in hot Quebec City car
Police smashed a window after the child didn't respond
Charges may be laid against a man who allegedly left his 2–year–old child in a hot car in Quebec City during last week's heat wave.
The incident happened in Old Quebec Friday afternoon when temperatures were hovering just below 30 C.
A passer-by saw the child asleep in a car seat in the back of the locked car and called police.
Police said they tried to get the child's attention but when the infant didn't respond, they smashed a window to open the car
The child had been in the locked car for about 20 minutes and was not harmed.
Provincial officials met with the father who had gone for a walk with his two other children.
