Police are investigating a fire that destroyed a commercial building on Lavoisier Street in Repentigny overnight.
The building housed an automobile garage, as well as several other businesses, and was a total loss.
The fire set off bottles of gas housed in the building, causing explosions that were heard by residents nearby.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, and police have no suspects.
Repentigny police spokesperson Bruno Marier said they began to treat the fire as suspicious when a car, found torched in Joliette, was linked to the garage.
Firefighters were still on scene Tuesday morning.
