Fire ban announced across Quebec

After several days of unseasonably warm temperatures, Quebec's ministry of natural resources has released a list of fire bans for the province.

After several days of warm weather, Quebec's ministry of natural resources is banning open fires in many parts of the province.

Starting on Monday at 3 p.m., fires will be banned in or near any forested areas across Quebec.

According to Quebec's forest fire protection agency (SOPFEU) there are currently 12 active forest fires in the province.

Since the beginning of the season, Quebec has seen 146 forest fires, exceeding the 10 year average for this time of the year, which is 87.
