Earl Jones condo for sale
The luxurious Montreal-area condo once belonging to disgraced financier Earl Jones is officially on the market.
Jones is out on bail after being charged with fraud. Quebec’s securities regulator alleges he swindled at least 50 investors out of at least $30 million in a Ponzi scheme.
The condo Jones shared with his wife Maxine in the suburb of Dorval was seized by bankruptcy trustee RSM Richter in September.
The asking price for the lakeside condo in Dorval is $925,000.
The couple’s property in Mont Tremblant and a condo in Boca Raton, Fla., will also be sold in coming weeks, said the real estate agents hired by the trustee.
Christina Miller and Louise Jackson of Profusion Realty Inc. said they will donate a portion of the brokerage fees to the West Island Community Resource Centre, which has been helping Jones’s alleged victims.
"The level of devastation on a human and financial level is astounding," Miller said in a statement.
Jones’s wife filed for divorce in October, making her his principal creditor.
Jones's case is expected to be back in court Friday.
