Organizers unveiled the latest nominees today in Toronto for the annual celebration of excellence in film, television and digital media productions.

Overall, CBC/Radio-Canada received 269 nominations from the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, once again marking a new record for the national public broadcaster by exceeding last year's previous benchmark of 236.

CBC News is up for 29 awards in 12 different categories, to be handed out in a televised ceremony March 29.

It will be aired on CBC TV and CBC Gem at 8 p.m. ET.

The Canadian Academy announced earlier that they are honouring Dr. David Suzuki with a lifetime achievement award and Dan Levy with the Radius Award.
