Registration is now open for the West Island Women's Centre's Women's Forum.

The virtual event takes place from March 13-17 and will offer daily webinars and online discussion forums that cover a range of topics, including support for entrepreneurs, business skills and getting media attention.

The goal is to provide a low-cost opportunity for forum registrants. Participants can choose to attend just one session or any number of the sessions for a $10 registration fee. You do not have to live in the West Island to attend.

According to the centre's executive director, Sarah Ford, the pandemic has caused different segments of our population to be adversely affected.

"Women of all generations have faced many challenges: insecurity with work, increased financial insecurity, increased isolation, familial stress and pressures, along with other challenges to mental and physical health," she says.

"We hope that the workshops and discussions offered at the forum will help to support women both during this difficult time and beyond."

Sessions include:

  • Support for Entrepreneurs Workshop - Sunday, March 14 at 10:00 a.m.
  • Professional Skills Workshop - Sunday, March 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.
  • Supporting Senior Women Session - Monday, March 15 at 7:00 p.m.
