The Porter is a new CBC original series inspired by real events and set in the early 1920s.

The fictional drama follows train porters Junior and Zeke, nurse Marlene and performer Lucy as a tragedy in the community sets them all on starkly different paths to a better life — and on a direct collision course with one another.

The drama premiered in Canada on Feb. 21 and airs on Mondays at 9 p.m. on CBC. It is also available to stream on CBC Gem, CBC's streaming service.
