CBC Do Crew flies high at the Montreal Aviation Museum
More than 800 people attended museum's Family Fun Day
On Sunday, August 7th, the CBC Montreal Do Crew was on hand for the Montreal Aviation Museum's Family Fun Day.
Tucked away in an old stone barn on the Macdonald campus of McGill University in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, the museum is a non-profit organization whose main goal is to raise awareness in the field of aviation, focusing on Quebec's role in aviation and the importance of aeronautics in Canada.
This was the second year for the Family Fun Day and the community came out in droves. Over 800 people attended and over $2000 was raised in donations.
From the moment we arrived, the CBC Do Crew was swiftly put to work. Stationed all over the site, we greeted guests, provided security for the exhibits, shucked corn and assisted with the food preparation at the BBQ station.
We also helped out at the various kids stations by making straw and paper planes at the craft workshop. Do Crew volunteers even tried their hand at face painting, creating colourful butterflies and animals on a steady line of eager cheeks.
Special thanks go to this month's Do Crew volunteers: Marie-Rose Amazonian, Justin Luo, Carolyn Cunnison, Malcolm Andrews, Claudia Ruiz, Francesco Beddia, Daniel Beddia and Joanne Miller, who went above and beyond, heading out for more hot dogs and burgers when the BBQ ran out!
