Carifiesta Parade smaller this year

The 37th annual parade draws thousands of spectators.

Montreal's 37th Carifiesta Parade took to the streets on Saturday.

The parade attracted about 5,000 people —  a modest turnout compared to the event in previous years.

  • René-Lévesque Boulevard is closed between Guy and Alexandre Streets until 5 p.m. Saturday.

The procession started at the corner of René-Lévesque Boulevard and Guy Street, ending at Phillips Square.

A family-oriented "Carifiesta cooldown" event will take place on Sunday at Jean-Drapeau Park.
