Laval police are investigating after a body was found in a burnt vehicle Monday night.

Several passersby reported seeing the SUV on fire on des Mille-Îles Boulevard near Highway 25.

Some witnesses said the vehicle was still moving when they noticed it.

After the flame were extinguished, the body was found inside. The body has not been identified. The vehicle was towed away for examination.

Police consider it a suspicious death.

Laval police recently vowed to crack down on organized crime violence within the city after a brazen hotel shooting left a man dead and shocked witnesses.
