Teen found dead in woods behind school on Nuns' Island
Investigators treating death as suspicious
The body of a 17-year-old boy was found in the woods behind École primaire Île-des-Soeurs on Nuns' Island Monday morning. Montreal police are treating the death as suspicious.
The body was found just after 7 a.m. near de Gaspé Street.
Police set up a large perimeter around the elementary school.
The investigation has been taken over by the Montreal police's major crimes unit.
An autopsy is expected in the next few days to try to determine the cause of death.
Sandra Colla has lived in the neighbourhood for seven years and her children attend the school.
"The neighbourhood is very quiet," Colla said. "This is very shocking."
