4 injured in Montreal collision

Montreal Police are investigating a car accident in the city's north end that sent two people to hospital.

Montreal Police are investigating a car accident in the city's north end that sent two people to hospital.

Cst. Raphael Bergeron said a driver heading east on Fleury Street likely ran a red light and slammed into a taxi driving North on Pie IX Boulevard.

"The cab driver was brought to the hospital with serious injuries, but not life threatening," Bergeron said.

The passenger in the taxi, a man in his 20s, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

Two young men in the other vehicle were treated for minor injuries and the driver was arrested.

Police said alcohol may have been a factor.
