3 men shot in Laval strip club
May be street gang-related
Three men were shot early Sunday morning after a gunman opened fire inside a Laval bar.
About 150 people were inside and outside the bar at 300 Sainte-Rose Boulevard when the shooting took place.
"There are certain elements found at the scene that is making us believe this may be a street gang conflict between two rival groups," said Const. Frank Di Genova of the Laval police.
"It's not confirmed 100 per cent, but it seems to lean that way."
Two men, both in their mid-20s, were found at the scene suffering from gunshot wounds to the chest. A 25-year-old woman was also injured by flying glass.
Fourth victim found
Police aren't sure if the glass came from a window or the numerous broken bottles found at the scene. Another injured man was later located a few kilometres from the club.
"He was with some friends and (they) noticed he was bleeding profusely so they pulled into a depanneur and called 911," Di Genova said, adding police and paramedics were dispatched
"Once there, it was confirmed that he was shot once in the arm and once in the abdomen."
The victim only told police that he was shot in a bar. Di Genova said the shooting at the strip club was the only incident they had in a club overnight.
All four of the victims are expected to recover.
No weapons recovered
Investigators recovered cartridges inside and outside the club, but no weapons.
Some shots may have been fired into the club from outside, Di Genova said.
A witness at the scene of the shooting gave police a description of a suspicious vehicle with a partial license plate.
Laval police sent out that information and got a call from officers in Boisbriand who had located the vehicle.
Three people were arrested.
