The death of a woman early Wednesday in Winnipeg is being investigated as a homicide.

Police have very little information about the death, other than to say the woman went to the Victoria Hospital shortly before 1 a.m.

She was suffering from undisclosed injuries and died later in the morning.

Officers were investigating the woman's death at a home on Barrington Avenue in St. Vital but would not say how the location was tied to her death.

At least three people were taken into custody, but police would not say if they were still in custody late Wednesday evening.

The woman's death is the city's fifth homicide of 2014.

Anyone with information about the woman is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
