The event was held inside castle Chavella at the Canadian Mennonite University. The girls received princess makeovers, and a ballroom lunch and entertainment from special guests Elsa and Anna, characters from Disney's Frozen.

Stella Mazza is the founder of the event, now in it's ninth year. She said the event gave the girls currently receiving treatment a chance to have some fun.

"They're away from doctors and all ... the medications and so forth that they have to deal with on a daily basis, and this is their escape, this is their fairy tale escape for them for the day," said Mazza.

Mazza said the purpose of the event was to give the kids a break from doctors and the daily stress of battling an illness.
