Winnipeg cabbie robbed at knifepoint
A 43-year-old Winnipeg taxi driver was robbed at knifepoint Friday morning in the city's North End.
It happened at about 2 a.m. in the 100 block of Selkirk Avenue when the male driver picked up a woman near the intersection of Provencher Boulevard and Tache Street in St. Boniface.
When the cab arrived at the destination on Selkirk Avenue, a man approached the cab and pulled out a knife, demanding money from the driver.
The driver handed over an undisclosed amount of money and the man fled the scene with the woman.
The driver was not hurt.
One of the suspects is described as a man about 20 to 23 years old, about five feet and nine inches tall with a slim build and short hair. He was wearing a T-shirt and shorts.
The other suspect is described as a woman in her early 20s, about five feet tall with a slim build and black shoulder-length hair. She was wearing a white sleeveless top and blue jeans.
