Vehicle fire on King Edward Street sends firefighter to hospital

A Winnipeg firefighter has been taken to hospital as crews extinguished a vehicle fire at a business on King Edward Street on Tuesday afternoon.

A Winnipeg firefighter has been taken to hospital as crews extinguished a vehicle fire at a business on King Edward Street on Tuesday afternoon.

Police confirmed that firefighters were called to the 900 block of King Edward just after 1:30 p.m., where they found a vehicle on a hoist had caught fire.

One firefighter was sent to hospital to be checked out after spraining his ankle, the CBC's Sean Kavanagh reported from the scene.

There was no damage to the structure, according to fire crews.
